Christopher F. Tate is a Senior Vice President and Senior Wealth Strategist at Bank of America Private Bank.

In this role, Chris helps clients pursue their individual goals in financial and estate planning, wealth transfer, intergenerational planning, tax-minimization strategies, risk management, and philanthropy. Chris coordinates with his clients’ team of advisors and conducts periodic reviews to help clients monitor progress on their financial and estate plans.

Prior to joining Bank of America Private Bank (formerly U.S. Trust) in 2017, Chris was a Senior Fiduciary Advisory Specialist with Wells Fargo Private Bank. Prior to that, Chris was an estate planning attorney for 15 years for several national and DC‐area law firms, and with his own law firm in Middleburg, Virginia. Chris has counseled clients on a wide range of matters including estate, gift and generation‐skipping transfer tax planning, dynasty trust planning, fiduciary issues, trust and estate administration, business succession planning, and charitable planning.

Chris earned his Juris Doctor from George Mason University School of Law, his Master of Arts from George Mason University International Institute, and his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Virginia. Chris is a licensed attorney in Virginia and in the District of Columbia. He is a member of the Trusts and Estates Section of the Virginia Bar, and he is a member of the Washington, DC Estate Planning Council.
