If you work with clients in the lower middle market that are considering an exit, you’re going to want to come to this session.
What’s a Search Fund? Basically a funded investment vehicle for an entrepreneur to locate, acquire, and operate a single company. Because of the emphasis on the entrepreneur stepping in to take over the reigns, Search Funds are potentially an interesting option for owners that want a more immediate exit.
We’ll be joined by a few “Search Funders” that have raised a fund, executed a search and closed on a deal. Three years into their stint as owners, they’ve been through the full life cycle and have some great insights to share.
We’ll be discussing:
– Understand what a Search Fund is
– Identify situations in which Search Funds are an appropriate capital source
– Understand how Search Funds fit with family businesses
– Understand typical investment criteria for Search Funds
